Auto Transport to & From Washington (WA)

Washington Auto Transport
Seattle, Washington

Washington is a state located in the Pacific Northwest region of the United States, north of Oregon, west of Idaho and south of Canada. It borders the Pacific Ocean on its western coast. Carved out of what was known as the Oregon Territory in 1853, it remained its own territory until statehood was granted in 1889.

Washington is often referred to as Washington State or the State of Washington, to help distinguish it from Washington, D.C. Washington State is the 18th largest in the U.S. by total area and 13th by total population, which currently sits at over 7.1 million residents.

This makes Washington auto transport easier to find and often more cost-effective, particularly to its largest cities. Its largest city is Seattle, and roughly 60% of the state’s population live in the Seattle, Washington Metropolitan Statistical Area.

The state is characterized by the Cascade Mountains, which cut it roughly in half and make for two very different regions, the western half, which receives a lot of rain, and the eastern half which is primarily desert. The state of Washington is a major lumber producer, one of the largest in the United States, though it is also the leading producer of apples, hops, pears, red raspberries, spearmint oil, sweet cherries and more.

As such, Washington State is a major agricultural producer, but also a leader in industry, and is home to several major corporations including Boeing and Microsoft, to name a few. With such a diverse array of industries and sectors that help the state make money, it’s no surprise that it is one of the fastest-growing and one of the most popular states in the Union.

Washington is well-known for its production of airplanes and other aircraft, missiles and other defense-based weaponry, military and civilian boats and ships, transportation equipment, metal and machinery.

In terms of Washington auto transport services, though, there are definitely some areas of the state that will be faster and easier to ship to on account of their size. With the Cascade Mountains splitting Washington in half, carriers often do not cross across the state, but rather enter in from the south.

This is most easily done via Vancouver, Washington, which is a popular vehicle shipping location despite it’s modest size. Of course, Seattle is the most popular shipping location in Washington. Most Washington auto transport services and companies that provide them are located in the Seattle metro area. The western half is more densely populated, which usually results in faster transit times and lower prices for shipping services.

There are only a few major interstate highways in the state. I-5 is the main north-south route through western Washington, while I-90 is the main east-west route; both of these see plenty of auto transportation traffic, but they leave vast sections of the state to rely on state highways and surface roads for their citizens to get around.

Many areas of eastern Washington, outside of Spokane and maybe Walla Walla, see little to no transportation traffic due to the scattered populace. Of the eastern cities, Spokane is the largest and the most popular, but even then it will likely cost more to ship to Spokane than Seattle on account of the distance it sits from other cities. Regardless, Washington auto transport services are generally easy to find and often rather cheap considering it sits isolated in the northwestern corner of the country.
